AMMON Staffing is hiring a Welder Helper for a well-established manufacturing facility in Walker, Louisiana. This is a hands-on role assisting in welding and pipe fabrication. Ideal candidates will have experience with various welding processes and be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
Assist with MIG, TIG, stick, and tack welding tasks under the direction of lead welders.
Support pipe gluing, fitting, and assembly projects.
Ensure materials and tools are prepped and positioned correctly.
Operate forklifts and use basic hand tools such as grinders, saws, and drills.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all company safety standards.
Accurately complete work records and job documentation.
Recognize and report potential safety or quality concerns.
Work effectively within a team environment and adapt to different work areas as needed.
Required:
Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and quality plans.
Comfortable lifting 50–100 lbs occasionally and 20–50 lbs regularly throughout the day.
Must be able to stand, bend, squat, twist, and climb ladders (up to 12 feet).
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor temperatures.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
Clear and effective communication skills.
Valid forklift operation experience.
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, plumbing, electrical, or welding environment.
Technical certification in a skilled trade (Plumbing, Welding, Electrical, etc.).
