AMMON Staffing is seeking General Helpers for a well-known logistics company in Plaquemine, LA! The General Helper plays a crucial role in supporting various tasks and operations within the logistics company. This position involves assisting in the loading and unloading of goods, organizing inventory, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing support to other logistics staff. The role is essential for ensuring smooth operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring that all logistics functions are carried out effectively.

Pay Rate: $15.00/hr
Shift: 6A to 6P - days only
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers, ensuring all goods are handled carefully and safely.
Help with the organization of inventory in the warehouse or yard, ensuring items are stored in the correct location and are easy to access.
Ensure that products and materials are properly labeled and marked according to company standards.
Move materials and products throughout the facility using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if certified).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including sweeping, cleaning up spills, and disposing of trash to ensure a safe and organized environment.
Assist in sorting, stacking, and labeling products or goods in preparation for shipment or distribution.
Help with assembling and preparing shipments, ensuring that items are properly packed and securely wrapped.
Assist the warehouse team with daily tasks such as inventory counts, stock rotation, and order picking.
Operate basic warehouse equipment and tools as needed, such as dollies, carts, and pallet jacks.
Follow safety protocols and adhere to all company policies regarding workplace safety.
Perform routine inspections of materials and products to identify any damaged or defective goods.
Assist other departments (shipping, receiving, inventory) as needed to ensure smooth operations across the company.
Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or other concerns to supervisors promptly.
Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Basic knowledge of safety practices and warehouse operations.
Physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if certified).
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
Flexibility to assist in various roles and adapt to changing needs in the workplace.
