We are seeking a skilled Drill Press Operator to join the manufacturing team of a century-old leader in the design and manufacturing of heavy-duty material handling equipment, including grabs, grapples, and clamshell buckets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating drill press machines to fabricate precision components used in heavy-duty material handling equipment. This role requires a keen eye for detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Machine Setup and Operation: Prepare and operate drill press machines, selecting appropriate drill bits, securing workpieces, and adjusting machine settings to achieve desired specifications.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine drilling requirements and tolerances.
Quality Assurance: Inspect completed workpieces using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on drill press equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating drill press machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of drilling techniques and material properties.
Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
